Those of you who have known me for a while, are aware of the fact that I have a filmmaking background. In fact, when I started out on Steemit - almost a year ago - I was working on a self produced feature film project called 'Los Ojos Rojos' (The Red Eyes).
That project got cancelled at the end of last Summer and half a year later, I left The Netherlands to travel to Portugal, via Germany and Spain.
The last three months or so - especially since I arrived in Portugal - filmmaking and my filmmaking talk slowly seeped out of my life and thus out of Steemit.
I kept talking about (other people's) films; movie recommendations, do share a clip on DTube every now and then and made an improv music video for a fellow Steemian @paradigmprospect. All this might be ( kind of fun ), but I can't compare it to 'The Real Deal', actual filmmaking.
Today, I had an hour and a half Skype talk with my friend, Theodore, with whom I co-produced 'Los Ojos Rojos' and worked on many different film projects between 2013 and 2017, We soon skipped the small talk and started chatting about filmmaking.
For quite a while he has been working on his own, fun, small, interactive film project and he has approached me a couple of times. Until know, I was too busy with my own life ( Steemit, finding a place in Portugal), so I couldn't really focus on it. Or perhaps I was just making excuses.
But, today, I realized that I really wanna be part of this. I wanna start filmmaking again and share my creativity on here. Instead of focusing on other stuff first, I feel this is going to benefit me in many ways. If I start focusing on the things that make me happy - actively creating - all other things will work out too.
So, expect me to get back to the real me pretty soon: a guy who does not just talk film but actually works on and shares his own movie projects.
