This is a continuation of Theo and Vincent - My Parallels with van Gogh, where I talked about my long distance filmmaking collab with Theodore and sharing our creative process with you.

Yesterday afternoon, he and I had an awesome filmmaking / story development brainstorm session. The last month or so, I have been talking on here, about a(n unnamed) project that he has been working on and that I was starting to get involved in. It would be my first green screen acting experience.

For more info on that project, here's some earlier posts: Back to Filmmaking - A Fun Project with Audience Interaction , I Heard Music Coming out of a Deserted Hotel in the Misty Mountains and A Perfect Location for a Scary Movie

Yesterday, Ted asked me if I'd already ordered the green screen. I felt kind of bad for telling him I hadn't. If you have been following my travel posts / updates on my Portugal adventures, you will understand that - due to not having my own place (yet) - it's kind of hard to get things sent to me. It doesn't help that I'm not sure where I'll be staying next week.

Pausing Our Project

Long story short, I haven't ordered the green screen. Ted told me that was alright but - due to shipping time - and the time it would take to get all things set up and tested, it would be better to put our film project on hold for a couple of months. Mainly to not have to deal with continuity issues ( Ted is filming in a forest and the trees, leaves will be changing ), it's better to wait until next year.

I felt slightly bad about delaying the process but I can't really help it and he and I have learnt - over the years - that it's always better to wait then to rush. All the things we rushed, were eventually unfinished and became stressful - instead of fun - over time.

This project is really meant to be as fun as possible. Fun during the 'making of' will lead to fun oozing through into the final product.

As is often the case when Ted an I are brainstorming, we easily come up with great story ideas. The last couple of weeks we had already discussed another idea. The pictures that I shared with Ted of the misty mountains inspired him to think up a story that we baptized 'Tunnels of the Shadow People'.

We then went off into a creative frenzy on this particular story idea and - about an hour and a half later - we had a pretty awesome story set up that could lead to an extremely interesting film project. A project that I plan to share with you all - in parts - on Steemit, in the not too distant future. For now, you will need to feed on the pieces of the process that I will throw at you.

Today, I decided to share this tiny clip. Ted sent this to me yesterday night with the following message attached:

Probably start our series with an image of something like this - It was shot in 1080p and is grainy, but whatever...

I replied:

Cool! Would be nice to – perhaps – add some sound to it too
Do you mind me using this vid in a Steemit post, to add some visuals / flavor to it, besides just text?

He answered:

Hahaha - that clip looks like it was edited with my feet, but of course you can use it. I just wanted to give you an idea of what I was thinking for an intro to the first episode, which is also why no sound was added.

To which I replied:

Cool! You know I dig this kind of stuff, right?
And people who don’t like it are better off not following our project anyway ;>)

Thanks!

He answered back:

Agree 👍

Alright, that's all folks!

TO BE CONTINUED very, very soon...
