It was Halloween night and pumpkins were burning inside the little house on the hill. This was far from an ordinary Halloween though.
In fact, Halloween had started very early in 2020...

People already started wearing masks in Spring. And - more importantly - the masks weren't funny or scary at all. They just looked stupid.

Sorry
not sorry
Couldn't help myself here.

The above picture was taken by me, here in Avô, Portugal, on a little evening stroll on my twin sister's land. It shows their little house, where there's no pumpkins burning ( although we had pumpkin in our awesome vegetable lasagna tonight ).

I just wanted to touch base, after a week without blogging and tell you all that I'm doing fine.

I have mainly been busy living life.

Made a new friend, who rented my house for a little while and then had to go back to Denmark ( he left this afternoon ). This guy is really a brother from another mother. There's so much we recognize in each other and we're even from the same year: 1981.

Aside from that I have been dealing with taxes ( finally decided to delegate it out to an expert, after years of being annoyed by this shizzle and always postponing it ), went on a bunch of hikes, played soccer ( made me feel like a kid again ) and spent loads of time with my sister and her family.

I haven't really done any writing, nor painting, but that's okay.

I'm realizing more and more that life is all about being in the now, having good conversations ( not just small talk ) and actually spending time with other people.

Giving people your undivided time and attention is what love ( and friendship ) is about.

I'm sure I will get back to being more creative again soonish but for now I'm pretty happy that I can feel good too when I don't create but just be.

It's all about connecting, even more in a year like this, where more and more people are getting and feeling isolated.

Aside from that, mental health is highly underrated and we - in the @naturalmedicine community - are very much aware of that. In fact, naturalmedicine recently started a cool new initiative to highlight mental health. Read more about it in:
