Got some filmmaking talk in again. It had been 5 days.

Sometimes creativity is all about staying positive and keeping momentum, while overcoming hurdles and or resistance. At times like these, it helps when you're not the only captain on the ship, not just the solo artist.

Flashback to two days ago:

Ted:

We should talk before you film too much. I changed the story a bit in post. Will need a certain view to finish out your time at the computer - The stay safe in the tunnels clips, although good are spoken directly into the gopro, but you speak to your monitor in the clips I used. Won't need much, but that stay safe dialogue is no longer needed. Something unexpected happens ;) I'd prefer to talk/speak about this because it's much easier to tell you, than write it here. I know you're having phone issues, so get back to me via email. If you need to pause your film making until you've got all the tech sorted, then by all means do it! Will try and film Tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Will probably need at least 2 sessions for my episode.

TTYS hopefully!

Ted

I was only able to get back to him the next day. I cut out a huge chunk of my reply, as it isn't about filmmaking at all.

Me:

Hi there buddy,

How did the filming go this morning?

I got working Internet at my place, since 5 minutes! :>)

I truly hope we can talk soon but, yeah, it depends of tech and so does the filmmaking / audio recording... :>)

Will keep you updated and talk to you soon, my friend :>)

To which Ted replied with:

Filming went well - Will probably film again on Saturday morning to clean up any gaps in footage. Glad you've got family and internet - ttys!

followed by:

Second half of my footage has too many gaps - Will start from scratch and re-film all of it on Saturday. First part already has a rough edit.

I then replied with a bunch of uninteresting tech issues talk, combined with private stuff and this:

Glad to hear the filming went well. Eventhough you are going for a reshoot tomorrow ;>)

Not sure if you got time, but do you wanna try to give Skype a chance somewhat later today ( in an hour or two or later ) or tomorrow?
( ... )
Anyhow, I'm sure we will overcome all these technical hurdles. I guess something needed to give in exchange for the awesome internet that I now have here ;>)

Talk to you soon!

Vince

Ted got back to me:

sure - I can talk - lmk if you get skype working on your cpu and then we'll talk

Fast forward to a couple of hours ago

We started skyping. The chat lasted almost two hours but felt like a quickie. In a nutshell, Ted and I decided that there's really no rush. If it takes a little longer to finish the first four episodes ( than mid October ), then so be it. We really don't wanna risk the project to slow down / discontinue at a later stage due to us rushing things now / to not having a four episode buffer. We're not gonna launch the first episode, before we've actually got the first four episodes in the can. It is - in a way - a good thing that we're running into technical issues right now. We can fix them without any pressure. It's not like the show has already started.

Right now, episode 1 is finished and episode 2 almost. Part of episode 3 has been filmed and more will be added and or reshot by me, as soon as my family's visit to Portugal is over - in about a week - and I got my tech sorted out. And, in the mean time, Ted is working on episode 4 already.

In other words:

Please bear with us. It will be worth it.

As goes for food, things usually taste better when you're more hungry ;>)
