Do you recognize this feeling of coming up with a fun idea and then, after googling it ( Damn you, Google! ), finding out that you weren’t the first one thinking this.

I guess that happens all the time, especially with billions of people, many of them online.

Today, I felt like drawing, for the first time in ages. My mom told me where the drawing utensils were ( meant for visiting grandchildren ) and I grabbed two pieces of paper, a big box of coloring pencils and a bag full of pencils, markers and crayons.

My original plan was to use the coloring pencils but most of them were old and I couldn’t find a sharpener. So I decided to go for crayons instead.

When I set out, I had no idea what to draw. My mind picked the cryptocurrency theme and then jumped to banking. The name ‘Jurassic Bank’ came up and I felt like drawing a scenic landscape full of dinosaurs. I could have drawn banks instead but that felt too boring.

As a little Dutch joke, I wrote ‘t Krijt, in the upper left corner. This is Dutch for both crayon / chalk and the ancient time called Cretaceous.

Funny enough, I thought that dinos didn’t live in the Cretaceous era ( but in the Jurassic ) but I just asked my dad and he said they did. I did some research, to refresh our memory, and found out that they lived from the Jurassic era till the end of the following Cretaceous era, when most of them ( all
but some flying ones ) went extinct.

To get back to the drawing itself:

Most banks are like dinosaurs ( but not in a cool way ). They are about to go extinct, if they don’t adapt.

At the top right of my drawing there’s a sun with the Bitcoin sign, setting a flying dinosaur and the ‘Jurassic Bank’ title on fire.

Long story short, I felt like I needed to let
my creativity out a little more and had a strong urge
to draw. It felt good, almost meditative. I won’t make any promises but I expect to do a lot more drawing ( and other creative stuff ) in the near future.

I guess having your laptop out for repairs has its advantages too.

Have a great day! ✨
