It was tough to take a picture of this. As you can see, it almost crawled out of the frame and is pretty strong, messing up the cloth that I cover my couch with. I will need to iron it again tomorrow.

This thing is sweet, but kind of naughty too. If it doesn't control itself and starts listening to me a little better very soon, I might have it for dinner.

No matter what will happen to it, I will always remember it as my sweet potato. Or as they say here in Portugal: 'Batata Doce'.'

Which reminds me that, decades ago, I imagined a pet, some kind of mutant made of a flesh like substance. A thing that people could keep in their houses and use as their main protein source.

The idea was that they would be bale cut off an arm or leg daily and that it would grow back almost instantly. I know it sounds kind of cruel, but it would replace meat and the need to hold and butcher animals. Pretty awesome right?

Of course, if this would become too much of a pet and it would look too much like a human or animal, if it would have emotions and seem to feel pain, then only the cruelest of people, psychopaths and the like, would actually hold these creatures and feed off them. So it probably wouldn't work unless it was a plant and plants already possess these traits.

Anyhow, I bought this sweet potato at a vegetable and fruit cart that stalls at my village for about half an hour, every Sunday afternoon. It is huge and, because of its strange shape, the vendors thought I wouldn't want to buy it. In the end, that's exactly why I bought it.

I like freaks, I love to hangout with them. And that is probably one of the reasons why I ended up on this platform. Just kidding, you're all as sweet as sweet potatoes. Most of you, that is.

P.S. It's nice to write this kind of posts again, after a month of daily writing. For those of you who didn't hear about it yet, I partook in NaNoWriMo ( national novel writing month ) and made the 50,000 worlds goal at the very last moment, yesterday, mid afternoon ( as can be read here: VeniVidiVincent). It's nice to be able to relax again and create at my own pace.

P.P.S. I'm now going for a month of editing ( not necessarily every day though ) and I made a deal with my good friend @whatamidoing that he's gonna edit his stories / books too in December, which is pretty exciting. More on that very soon :>)
