Hurray! It seems like we finally reached my favorite number :>) This is, apparently, the 22nd post in this filmmaking series.
Yesterday:
Ted:
Wow - it's really hard not "working" on our project. I enjoy it so much!
Me:
I agree
it's as addictive as the stone ;>)
Enjoy your 'day off''
won't be sending you footage before tomorrow morning
that might help ;>)
( I still had some filming to do, yesterday night )
Ted:
Hahaha - it's addictive and that'll help!
Me:
:>)
Ted:
Watched your E1 footage and have decided that I really like it!
Me:
great
Ted:
Talk to you tomorrow my stoner friend ;>)
Me:
you bet ya! haha
As mentioned in yesterday's write up First Episode Finished, today's plan was to send the footage that I (re)shot for episode 2 towards Ted. All the way towards North Carolina, via the miracle called 'The Net', internet or the digital highway. I'm sure there's plenty of other names for it but those were the first three that came to mind.
As my gut feeling told me this morning, it wasn't meant to be. The wifi at the local ( and only ) café was still down, for the third day in a row. Which reminded me that it's the day of the lord. Not that I'm the religious type but a day of rest / not working once a week isn't necessarily a bad thing. It isn't easy not to work if your work doesn't feel like work though ( as Ted already mentioned ).
I updated Ted on the situation:
no wi-fi
just made an awesome selection of clips I wanted to send to you but it will have to wait a day
we can talk though
:>)
Ted:
Too bad
Me:
sometimes good things have to wait :>)
Then our Skype call started. While Ted called me when I was in the process of ordering a ginger ale with a slice of lemon. I picked up the drink, walked to a table and answered the call.
Today's talk was as much about food as it was about filmmaking. I guess both of us were hungry. It's - without a doubtt one of our favorite topics.
Ted told me a couple of times how much he's looking forward to receiving the footage I shot for episode 2. We also discussed episode 3 and 4, that will be shot in the next 7 days or so.
At the end of our talk, Ted asked me:
Can you talk tomorrow?
I told him that I might be out of town, or actually in a bigger town, but sure, I can talk.
He added:
even if it's just a 15 minute talk. Just to keep the momentum going.
I totally get the point of that and am realizing, not for the first time, that - as soon as there's some momentum going - things become so much more easy and fun.
So, no matter what, we're talking again tomorrow.
TO BE CONTINUED
In case you wondered, the picture above this post shows one of the main characters of our project, enjoying the view from my window sill. Isn't (s)he looking handsome?
