As promised in yesterday's post I Heard Music Coming Out of a Deserted Hotel in the Misty Mountains, here's some pictures taken at that ( perfect ) movie location, that I visited two days ago. It can be found at the top of the Portuguese Serra da Estrela ( 1993 meters above sea level ).
I did not visit this place with the idea of shooting a movie there. In fact, I went there with my brother and his girlfriend, as they wanted to show it to me. They had told me that it was kind of surreal, as it's pretty desolate, besides this one building where they sell ham and cheese.
In the end, that one building - called 'Centro Comercial' - was the least interesting out there. I didn't take any pictures of it. I enjoyed the sausage and the cheese that we bought there though.
Nevertheless, besides that shopping/ souvenir centre, the location and the rest of the buildings were so extremely picturesque that I decided to take pictures until my phone battery run out. In fact, I had wanted to take more photos but the cold and / or the spooky hotel that seemed to ooze music , stopped me from doing that.
I felt, though, that I will be visiting this place again in the ( near ) future. Probably with filmmaking intentions.
